Account Manager Ben Toms visited the Crown and presented the Trust with a sizable cheque. The donation was used to renovate one of the four flats within the property.
After our trip to Huddersfield earlier in the year, our travels took us to St James’s Palace to meet with Prince Andrew himself. The Duke of York’s Community Initiative is a Royal Award presented to community projects based in Yorkshire. The Crown housing renovation was recognised as a well-run, inspirational and valued project to the community of Brotton and area of East Cleveland. Unfortunately, we managed little more a passing hello with Prince Andrew before he was whisked off. The events of the day and memorable night in the city were certainly something we will remember for some time.
On the morning of 19th April ECYHT met up with Loftus High St Store Manager Christopher Blenkey and Co-op Funeral cares Glenis Sanderson to accept a cheque for £1799.21.
After 16-months of renovation, ECYHT opened the doors to the Crown Hotel for its first public viewing. The building was formally a public house but has been transformed into 4 spacious flats that will soon be available to tenant.

The Trust was happy to accept a cheque from the Screwfix Foundation for £4904. Author ECYH Trust Tom Blenkinsop MP for East Cleveland and Middlesbrough South, visited The Crown on Brotton High St where we are completing the Trust’s largest renovation project to date.

ECYH Trust transformed a cold, dark hall with scratchy carpet tiles into a warm welcoming space with a varnished wooden floor. This contract gave the apprentices a chance to learn many new skills, such as sanding and varnishing the wooden floor. Author ECYH Trust ECYH Trust took great pride in help restoring the Community Theatre in Saltburn by the sea by replacing damp and crumbling plaster in the community hall and toilets.
