Renovation

Before and after renovation works Before and after renovation works

These photographs show the derelict and poor quality of property at the beginning of renovation work, compared to the high standard of housing provided after renovation work has been carried out.

Some of the training and experiences that our trainees have been involved with include:

Installing kitchens and bathrooms
Installing soil and drainage pipes
Demolitions
Laying concrete floors
Rendering
Plumbing
Artexing
Plaster Boarding
Plastering
Brickwork
Joinery work
Painting and decorating
Stripping out buildings
Community works
Tiling
Paving

Being able to see a project through to the end is a great achievement for those involved. Young people have been able to move into employment, to gain qualifications, and to achieve a sense of purpose.

Alterations to new property

"When working on a renovation project our young people not only get to see the full range of building skills they get to try their hand at them as well. It also helps them to work in a team as well as on there own so building there confidence".

Steve Brogden - Building Skills Supervisor
