ABOUT
East Cleveland Youth Housing Trust was established in response to an identified need to tackle youth unemployment and a lack of affordable housing. The trust delivers a program of construction-based training for local young people. This is done by acquiring run down, empty properties in which they are actively involved in renovating. Once fully refurbished, these properties become affordable, supported homes for people in housing need.
We aim to make independent living a reality for young people by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their tenancy or apprenticeship. By helping young people take ownership of their environment, they can begin to lead more stable lifestyles, become more financially secure and confident in their own abilities.
